Welcome to the Eaton Community Schools!
Eaton exemplifies a community that works closely with its schools to ensure the success of its young people. The Eaton Schools serve approximately 2300 students in our four school buildings – Hollingsworth East Elementary (Grades K-2), William Bruce Elementary (Grades 3-5), Eaton Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Eaton High School (Grades 9-12).
Our district continues to make strides in our efforts to provide a world class educational opportunity for our students. Throughout our district, staff is committed to engaging students in rigorous learning opportunities; all the while, preparing them to perform in an ever changing, highly technical, global marketplace. At the same time we strive each and every day to instill values and traditions that have made our community great for generations. The strong partnership and support we receive from our community continues to inspire our students to excel in our classrooms and in our co-curricular activities. The community support we have long enjoyed has once again been affirmed with the passage of Issue 6 on May 4, 2010, a 1.9 mill bond issue for the purpose of raising the remaining local share for completion of Phase II of our district’s facilities master plan.
The new Eaton High School and complete renovation of Hollingsworth East Elementary were completed in 2004. These improvements have been invaluable in the educational processes for our students, consistent with ongoing research that shows modern schools are crucial to the delivery of a state-of-the-art educational system. While these buildings are of great benefit to our students, our other two schools, William Bruce Elementary and Eaton Middle School, are showing the wear of their many years of service to our community. Fortunately, our district now has an outstanding opportunity to address the facility needs for students in grades three through eight. Currently, design teams are meeting and visiting new facilities throughout this part of the state to gather as much information as possible in determining what options are available to best serve the needs of our students. I encourage you to visit the “Construction Update” section of our website for the latest details on the progress of our project.
Our students and staff are fortunate to have a community that values education and realizes that we all benefit from quality schools. As a district, we value the feedback we receive from our community and encourage you to contact us with your thoughts, concerns, or questions. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at anytime.
It’s great to be an Eagle!
