Covid-19 Return to Play Information

In accordance with the OHSAA, Eaton Community Schools will adhere to the following requirement from the OHSAA for both our high school and middle school athletes, whether in or out of season:

An individual who tests positive for COVID-19, whether symptomatic or asymptomatic, shall not return to sports activities until a documented medical exam is performed, clearing the individual prior to returning to sports activities until a documented medical exam must specifically include an assessment of the cardiac/heart risk of high-intensity exercise due to the potential of myocarditis occurring in COVID-19 patients.  More information on this issue can be found at https://www.acc.org/latest-in-cardiollogy/articles/2020/07/13/13/37/returing-to-play-after-coronavirus-infection

In the event your student-athlete is suspected of having or tests positive for Covid-19, they must be cleared by their physician. The Kettering Health Network Covid-19 Returning to Play form for clearance can be found at the link below.  Please print that form and take it to the physician. If required by the physician, your student-athlete must complete the 7-day return to play progression, listed at the bottom of the form.

Please contact us if you have any further questions.

As the fall season quickly approaches, remember that all student-athletes must have their paperwork completed and an up to date physical on file by August 1, 2017 (July 31st for high school football). This applies to both, high school AND middle school student-athletes. Student-athletes with incomplete paperwork are not to participate until paperwork and physicals are complete. Above is the link for parents to register their student-athletes if you have not already. If you have any questions, please contact a member of our staff or the Athletic Office at 456-1141, ext. 4304.
